How to Get Diamonds Fast
Every Diamond source in 99 Nights in the Forest ranked by what it actually pays: the Cultist Stronghold loop that renews, badges, milestones, daily quests, update parties — and the Diamonds-vs-Gems naming trap.
Diamonds are the premium currency and the only thing standing between you and every locked class. The good news: almost all of it is farmable without spending Robux. The bad news: most players farm the slow sources.

First, the Naming Trap
You will see Diamonds and Gems used interchangeably, and it confuses almost everyone. Several guides claim Gems are a separate, weaker currency. The evidence says they are the same pile under two names.
Every number we can cross-check lines up exactly once you assume that:
| Called "Diamonds" | Called "Gems" | |
|---|---|---|
| Ranger class | 70 | 70 |
| Assassin class | 500 | 500 |
| Cyborg class | 600 | 600 |
afterparty code pays | 15 | 15 |
yay fishing pays | 2 | 2 |
We could not find a single item priced in one and not the other. The class screen tends to say Gems; code rewards, chests and most guides say Diamonds. Treat them as one balance.
Two things that follow from this and are worth knowing:
- Diamonds are saved to your Roblox account, not to the run. Dying never costs you any.
- Class unlocks are permanent. Buy once, use in every future run.
Separately, Candy and Candy Canes are genuinely different — event-only currencies for seasonal classes.
Every Source, Ranked
| Source | Payout | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Cultist Stronghold | 5+ per clear | The only truly renewable source; reopens about every 20 minutes |
| Achievement badges | ~100 across all of them | Around 35 exist; best one-time return for a new account |
| Daily Quests | 5 per task, 3 tasks a day | Roll them at the roulette in the spawn lobby |
| Survival milestones | 2 at Day 50, 3 at Day 99 | Paid every run |
| Update Party | 20–40 in a good session | Saturdays, shortly before the update drops |
| Redeem codes | 15 per working code | See Active Codes |
yay fishing | 2, one-time | Chat-only, needs campfire Level 2 and a rod |
| High-tier chests | 1, rare | Gold, Legendary, Ruby, Iron, Cold and Ice |
With a clean Stronghold loop the rough ceiling is about 15 Diamonds an hour, and roughly double during a 2x Diamond weekend.
The Cultist Stronghold Loop
This is the method that turns a trickle into a farm. Everything else is one-time or luck.
- Find it. One Stronghold spawns per game, marked with a diamond icon on your map. In some runs it stays sealed until your campfire reaches Level 4 — which is why How to Get Wood Fast matters here.
- Kit out while it is closed. It opens on a roughly 20-minute timer. Use that window for a ranged weapon, ammo, food and fuel. Set a timer so you are at the door when it unlocks.
- Fight upward with range. Clear floor by floor to the top. Shoot from cover rather than walking into archer fire. Kill crossbow cultists first, and kite melee enemies back downstairs to pick them off.
- Loot, then reroll the server. The top floor hides the treasure room with the Ruby and Diamond Chest — at least 5 Diamonds, banked instantly.
The tips that actually change the payout
- Farm solo. Enemy count scales with the number of players, but the Diamond Chest pays the same either way.
- Never let difficulty stack. Each clear makes the next one harder, so restarting after a clear is faster than beating a Level 3 Stronghold.
- The Deer cannot follow you inside. The Stronghold doubles as a panic room at night.
- Carry a backup weapon. Reloading in an open room with archers still alive is how most raids end.
- Get the Good Sack early — more carry space per trip.
Picking a Class for Farming
You do not need the expensive class. The cheapest ones do the job:
- Medic (40) — two bandages and faster revives. The safest budget pick if you raid with friends.
- Ranger (70) — starts with a Revolver and 18 ammo. The cheapest reliable entry into ranged Stronghold farming.
- Alien (100) — the Ray Gun never runs out of ammo, though it overheats, so carry a revolver or rifle to cover the cooldown.
- Cyborg (600) — the endgame goal: Alien Armour plus a Laser Cannon that shreds cultists in a couple of hits. Farm toward this one rather than starting with it.
See Best Class for the full comparison, and Best Weapons for what to bring through the door.
Daily Quests
At the spawn lobby there is a large roulette. Pull its handle and it rolls three tasks for the day. Completing each one during a run pays 5 Diamonds — so up to 15 a day, every day, which adds up faster than most people expect.
The exact per-task figure comes from a single source, but the mechanism itself is reported everywhere.
Badges and Milestones
Badges are one-time each, and there are roughly 35 of them, worth about 100 Diamonds in total. For a new account this is the best return available — work through the easy ones first and let the hard ones wait until you have better gear.
Milestones pay every run: 2 Diamonds at Day 50 and 3 more at Day 99. Build beds and rescue the kids to push the day counter faster — see Missing Kids Locations, since each rescue is a permanent +1 multiplier.
Hard Mode pays more for the same objectives, but a completed normal run beats an abandoned Hard Mode attempt. Switch when your group can reliably reach Day 99.
Update Parties
Roughly 30–60 minutes before a Saturday update goes live, the developers sometimes run a party and shower the map with Diamonds. Being there can pay 20–40.
Check the game's Roblox page for the update schedule and join early — arriving after the update has launched means you missed it. Stand in the open when they fall; big structures can block the drops.
What Not To Do
- Do not trust generator sites. There is no working Diamond generator. Any site asking you to log in or complete a task is farming you.
- Do not buy Diamonds first. Robux bundles exist, but grinding beats them on value unless you specifically want to skip ahead.
- Do not grind Hard Mode you cannot finish. An abandoned run pays nothing.
- Do not let Stronghold difficulty stack. Reroll instead.
A One-Hour Session
- 5–10 min: roll Daily Quests, kit up, check for a new code.
- ~20 min: first Stronghold clear.
- Exit and re-queue. Repeat for a second clear.
- Last 10–15 min: knock out an easy badge, claim milestones, redeem codes.
Two smooth clears beat one long messy one. Consistency is the whole trick.
