How to Get the Revolver in 99 Nights in the Forest
Every way to get a Revolver: the Ranger class, the Pelt Trader, chests and gun cabinets — plus where Revolver Ammo comes from and whether the gun is worth carrying early.
The Revolver is the most reliable early ranged gun in 99 Nights in the Forest: 6 rounds, quick to draw, no energy bar. It will not out-damage a Rifle or the S-tier guns, but it is the sidearm you want before you can reach them. This page covers every way to get one and where the ammo comes from. The tier ranking and the full weapon ladder are on Best Weapons.

Four Ways to Get a Revolver
The acquisition routes below are corroborated across techwiser, deltiasgaming, fdaytalk and supercheats, all checked 2026-09-29.
1. Ranger Class (70 Diamonds) — the cheapest guaranteed route. The Ranger class starts each run with a Revolver and 18 ammo. If you are willing to spend Diamonds, this is the only way to be holding a gun from minute one. See Best Class for the class menu.
2. Pelt Trader (arrives Day 2). The Pelt Trader takes a Rabbit Foot + Wolf Pelt and runs a trade ladder: Good Axe → Spear or Revolver → Strong Axe or Rifle. He is limited per run, so on a team decide who calls the Revolver. The Wolf Pelt comes from the wolves you are already farming — see The Wolf.
3. Chests. Common and Good Chests can contain a Revolver. Rare chests (campfire Level 4+) improve the pool but are not required for a Revolver specifically.
4. Gun Cabinets. Forest cabins and houses near your camp sometimes hold a Revolver (usually with ammo). Check every building you pass.
Revolver Ammo
Revolver Ammo comes 6 rounds per item, from Good Chests, the Ranger class, Cultists, and Ammo Crates. It is common enough to stock, but conserve it for real fights rather than wolves you could club with an Old Axe.
Is It Worth It?
The Revolver is the dependable early-game sidearm. The only published damage figure sits around 25–37 (a single source — most tier lists rank by feel, not numbers), which drops a wolf in a couple of shots. Tier lists place it anywhere from A to B; either way it is the gun you carry until you can reach a Rifle (60–90 damage) or the S-tier Tactical Shotgun / Laser Cannon.
If you want the gun without spending Diamonds, the Pelt Trader route is the efficient play — the Wolf Pelts it costs are a byproduct of normal farming.
Sources
Acquisition routes are corroborated by techwiser, deltiasgaming, fdaytalk and supercheats (all checked 2026-09-29). The tier ranking varies between lists, and the 25–37 damage figure is a single published source, so treat both as guidance rather than fixed values.
